Our third Fan Club Spotlight is dedicated to a club that goes above and beyond to show their support of and admiration for the super talented guys of B.A.P! Lyndsay of ForeverBAPsBABYz (#FBB) was so excited to share the events that #FBB has done for B.A.P, especially as they were just in the states for the US leg of their Live On Earth 2016 World Tour! :D On a personal note, we have had the pleasure of seeing B.A.P perform live and cannot stress how amazing they are on stage. We are happy that fanclub's like #FBB are there to show the members just how much they are appreciated not just in Korea but all over the world. :)
Read on to find out more about ForeverBAPsBABYz as well as find links to all their social media so you can join fellow Babyz in the movement to show and spread B.A.P love! ❤
Name of fanclub: #ForeverBAPsBABYz (#FBB)
Year Formed: 2015
What is your role in this fanclub (what position)? I am the creator of the group and I also admin the group along with my 3 other amazing admins...Ephney, Maisee, and Heather!
Was there any special reason that led you to form this club/gave you the idea to form this club? I was inspired to form the group during B.A.P's hiatus. I wanted to bring Babyz together and stay strong as a fandom. It is important to us that B.A.P see that they still have Babyz standing behind them and supporting them. ❤
One thing that has always drawn me to B.A.P is their generosity and that has also inspired us to work with the fandom to help others in need too.
What do you like about BAP? What's not to like about them!? They are talented, humble, funny, generous, and caring. They never fail to showcase their passion for charity work. Bang Yongguk once said “I think idols are not stars, but role models and icons of good image to young kids,” and they do make it a point to try and lead their fans to do good deeds.
Each member brings their own unique characteristics and together as a group they are an unstoppable force. They have an amazing bond and incredible strength and we are so happy to have them together on stage again! :D
Have you ever met the group/members of the group? Not yet, but I've seen them live!
What events does your fanclub do? We focus primarily on charity projects, and we also had a fan support project for the U.S. leg of their most recent tour, as well as helping to fund a rice wreath for B.A.P's comeback concert in Seoul.
As leader Bang Yongguk has mentioned before, he would rather fans donate to nonprofit organizations and help others, than spend so much money on gifts for the members. When we first started our group, it was around the time that there was very severe flooding in Myanmar, and so our first project was raising money to donate to help with flood relief efforts. We were able to donate a total of $1,004.00 to GHNI under B.A.P's name for this project, and we were extremely motivated by how eager the group members were to help us, so we've done a lot more projects since then.
For each members' birthday, we have a donation set up for a nonprofit that has to do with the members' interests, and we donate under each members name, respectively. For example, for Youngjae, the "brains" of the group, we donated 76 books to a local library in Koreatown and a $250.00 Amazon gift card to the Children's Hospital Los Angeles' Literally Healing Program. For Jongup, the main dancer, we donated $300.00 to sponsor a child's dance lessons for an entire year via the Kids Excel program. For Yongguk, who loves art, we donated $408.00 CAD to the Graffiti Gallery in Canada. For Himchan, the musician, we were able to raise $350.00 to donate to the Vanderbilt Children's Hospitals Music Therapy Program. We are currently still collecting donations for Daehyun, the foodie, and will be making a donation for him to the United Nations' World Food Program, and for Zelo, our maknae, we will be making a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Besides our birthday projects, we also had a charity project and fan support projects for their <Live On Earth 2016 World Tour U.S. Awake!> from earlier this year. Aside from San Francisco, we were able to fund 2,000 banners per stop (Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, New York, and Atlanta), with a different design per city (designed by our admin Maisee). For the LA, Chicago, and NY stops, we also teamed up with local food banks to host a food drive. Our thought was, since everyone attending would need to show up, and many have unused canned goods sitting in their pantry, we could do a food drive collection as a "welcome back" for the boys! In Los Angeles, we were able to donate 306 pounds of food, which would equate to 255 meals, to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. For Chicago, we were able to donate 493 pounds of food to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. For New York, we were able to donate to the Greater Boston Food Bank. Babyz came together and donated nearly 1,000 pounds of non-perishable food!
How do you communicate with other members in your fanclub? Our main group is based on Facebook, which is where we do most of our events. We are also slowly building our Twitter account up and hope to expand to Instagram as well.
Proximity of members (all from same country/city, etc)? Our members are from all over the globe! We love being able to connect with Babyz all over the world and come together for some really great causes! :D :D
What message would you like to give to B.A.P fans around the world? Most of all, thank you to those who stayed and supported B.A.P when they needed it the most. And welcome to the new Babyz! Let's continue working together as a fandom to support B.A.P and help others in need!
